Posted by Reneé Ettia on

Hello Yarnies! <3

Welcome to Day Two of our very special 12 Days of Christmas-CAL.

We are blown away by all your amazing amigurumi socks from Day One. Our Yarnish Community Group has never felt more cozy! It was raining itty-bitty amigurumi socks and we were loving it <3

Let's see what we are making for Day Two:

One stunning Star, by Emma Wilkinson of Emma Wilkinson Designs

Emma Wilkinson is our very special Team Leader of the Yarnish Design Team. So did you except anything other than special when she designed something for our Christmas-CAL? Emma has done it again, with this perfectly-pointed tree ornament! Arguably, you can have this hanging up all year round! Although looking very Christmas-y during Christmas-time, this star looks beautiful all on it's own.

As I mentioned yesterday, I asked each designer to answer a series of questions about their design. Here's what Emma had to say:

When asked what inspired her design, Emma said:

"I think they are a really universal decoration, very pretty and geometrically perfect, I also wanted a subtle link to last years design, which is the centre cluster - 5 clusters instead of 6".
When working on her design, Emma suggests to:
"If the third loop is to hard to find, you can modify with a back loop, and the whole design still works....[and] count your stitches! Stitch markers help you keep track."
When choosing her favorite team, Emma is Team:

"Rustic!"

Emma's most favorite holiday tradition is:

"I love to cook and bake at Christmas. I don't feel like I'm very adventurous in the kitchen the rest of the year."

And her most treasured memory:

"Instead of an advent calendar, we had little knitted stockings in the Christmas tree, which moved around each day and we had to find them- and the lolly inside!"

Thank you for sharing Emma xxx

We hope you enjoy this beautiful design, we cannot wait to see them all shining in our Yarnish Facebook Group!

Merry Yarning <3
