One Ball Projects - Snug as a Blue Bugg

If you've been reading here for a while, you'll know we are big fans of 1 ball projects and Katt Wade has written a new scarf pattern that uses one ball of Papatya Batik. She has used 554-36, which is a beautiful aqua colour. 

Materials:

1 ball Papatya Batik
4 mm hook
yarn needle
1-2 x 2 cm buttons

Abbreviations: US terms used. 

cluster - (sc 1, dc 1) in same sp        dc - double crochet
Fhdc - Foundation hdc                      sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet                   sp - space
sl st - slip stitch                                  ch - chain 

 

ROW 1: Ch 3, Fhdc x 112, TURN. 

OR

Make a chain of  114

Row 1: hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc 111, TURN.

(multiple of 8 plus 2 turning ch)

ROW 2: Ch 1, *miss 1, (sc 1, dc 1) in next st*  rep from * to end, TURN.
ROW 3-14: repeat ROW 2
ROW 15 & Button Hole Loop: Ch 1, hdc in each st 112 across to the short end - along the short edge, sc2 in the next st, sc 17 across to the last st, sc 2 in the last st, sl st in next sp (21 sts - sl st not included in st count) ch 1, TURN.
[miss 1, (sc 1, dc 1) in next st] x 5, ch 5 (button hole loop), miss 2, [(dc 1, sc 1) in next st, miss 1] x 5, sl st next st to finish.
Place button 6 clusters from opposite button hole edge or add 2 or more buttons a few clusters apart for an adjustable fit. 
Weave in the loose ends.
Your Snug should measure 63 cm long and 9 cm wide.
