WITB: Highlights and Showstoppers 11/02/2020

Poor Nicole and Shelby are feeling the effects of a super busy show over the weekend. Can you tell? They have slightly lost the plot!

But that didn't stop them from 'bringing the goods' tonight ;) 

Let's jump in! 

Shelby's Show and Tell

Shelby has been inspired by another craft *gasp!* 

I know right?! Seriously! hehehe

No, but in all seriousness, Shelby has been inspired by the beautiful world of patchwork! While at Craft Alive this weekend, she indulged and bought a whole bunch of fabrics and sewed together a quilt top! Shelby is an amazing overachiever hehe 

Doesn't it look great! 

Shelby has only ever used a sewing machine once before. She absolutely winged it, no rotary cutter or board. AND! She managed to do it all in one evening!

This weekend was crazy! They had so much fun at Craft Alive, however, it was absolutely bucketing down when they tried to pack up and go home. They were completely wet! They returned home with no power, and their dam was overflowing. So no showers or nice warm meals for Nicole or Shelby on Sunday night... but what's worse, they could not even crochet (or sew!) :( 

Look at their driveway-turn river rapids!! 

But Shelby has been super motivated working on her Virus Shawl. She has been using her beautiful Stenli (preorders now available!). This is looking so lovely, she is really enjoying working with this beautiful yarn. Shelby is using #796 and a 3mm hook.  

Nicole has been working on finishing Shelby's Rigging Wrap, in a Shelby colour of course. She is using Silky Wool colour Honey Hive. She hasn't got much to go before she finishes. Kits for these wraps were super popular at Craft Alive!

Skies Heavy and Light, Undyed - $15, made from an all-natural 100% Premium Blend cotton, the Scheepjes SKIES yarns are so soft you’d think you were holding a cloud. You can combine them with the Indigo Dyed yarn or dye them yourself. 

The dyed colours are in shades of blue to green, they have been dyed with Indigo Dyes. Just a quick note: there can be some transfer with the natural dye, so just wash it after you have made up your design and you should have no problems after that.  

Scheejpes Organicon - $6.50, so many beautiful colours back in stock. This yarn is perfectly soft, and perfect for baby toys. For example, the Ice Cream Rattle Kit or the Bathing Duck Kit are worked up with Organicon and they are divine! 

If you were after these kits, be quick because at the show they were super popular and we only have a few left!

This yarn is incredible! It's like looking at all the colours of the rainbow, the ENTIRE colour spectrum!

Update on Craft Alive

Last weekend we were at Craft Alive! It was super busy and pretty consistent all weekend which was great! Nicole and Shelby got to meet lots of people, including members of our lovely Yarnish Community.

Shelby highlighted meeting the lovely Cindy who made a Virus Shawl using a Mari Lola and it was amazing!! Cindy, you need to bring in your shawl to an open day so we can snap pictures! 

So thank you to everyone who came out and said hello!
